‘Real eye opener’: PFA’s training camp keeps released players fighting fit

Whilst experienced players at the highest level quickly find new clubs when their contracts come to an end, it is not the same for those lower down the league scale. And, as squads across the country kick-off their pre-season, there are still many who are still waiting for the phone to ring with an offer. A training camp by the PFA allows these to stay in shape for when / if that call comes. And keep away thoughts about how their career might have just come to an end.

B teams in Serie C: Solution or problem?

Italy's Serie C has welcomed a third "B team" with the addition of Milan Futuro, the second team of AC Milan that will feature the likes of Francesco Camarda who lit up the latest European Under 17 tournament. This trend of B teams in the league is due to mismanagement of other clubs, such as Siena's bankruptcy leading to the creation of Atalanta U23. While this approach has produced some top players, it also faces criticism and logistical challenges. Even so, more B teams are expected to join in the future.
