Cultured Football's Gift Guide 2025: Kits
Show Your Cool
Every week I get to share the best football writing I can find, but December always feels a little different, and it feels like the right moment to do something extra. So, just like last year, I’m putting together a small gift guide; a simple collection of pieces I genuinely like and would be delighted to unwrap myself.
Today’s instalment turns to one of the purest joys in the game: football shirts. Kits that carry history, identity and imagination, whether through bold modern designs, subtle cultural nods or the kind of details you only notice on the second or third look.
They’re objects you can wear, collect, display, or simply admire.
Think of this edition as a small tribute to the designers and clubs who keep pushing creativity forward and as another way of saying thank you for being part of Cultured Football throughout the year.
Latina Calcio Home 2025/26
In truth, I could have picked any shirt produced by the Italian brand Ezeta with their mix of colour and visual experimentation that is always rooted in each club’s wider culture. This one pays tribute to the flag of Saint Mark, a symbol of unity among the peoples who founded the city of Littoria, now Latina where the traditional stripes give way to the Winged Lion that dominates the entire kit. The collar and sleeve trims are decorated with the historic inscription “Pax Tibi Marce, Evangelista Meus,” a solemn homage to the city’s patron saint.
UD Almeria Away Shirt 2025/26
UD Almeria are pushing for a return to the Spanish top flight which they deserve purely for this shirt. Produced by Macron, it pays tribute to the traditional pottery of Almeria showcasing a unique design inspired by ceramic plates, featuring blue tones and finished with striking yellow accents. Lovely.
Federated States of Micronesia
The official replica home jersey of the Federated States of Micronesia stands out with its white and pacific blue hoops arranged in a flowing wave design, complemented by a crisp navy henley collar and sleeves. Its negative-space approach brings subtle depth to the shirt, with Micronesia-inspired tribal patterns watermarked into alternating hoops, creating a distinctive look that blends modern style with cultural heritage. The alternative kits aren’t too shabby either. Brilliant work by Stingz.
SV Austria Salzburg Away 2025/26
Formed in 2005 by fans protesting the take-over and rebranding of their club into Red Bull Salzburg, the new club re-embraced their traditional purple colours which had been ditched in favour of red and white by the corporate outfit. The new away jersey carries on that tradition whilst still being a bold statement piece. Born from the collaboration between tattoo artist Balu and Capelli Teamwear, the shirt showcases real fan motifs across the chest: choreography, city symbols, iconic matches and unforgettable moments; graphics “under the skin” for supporters who don’t just follow the club, but live it.
Flamengo Third Kit 2025-26
Flamengo are currently dominating South American football so they deserve a stylish kit to go along with a stylish football team. This, their third kit, is simple yet extremely elegant. Its subtle water-inspired texture evokes the gentle waves of Rio’s bays, recalling the oars slicing through water in the club’s earliest days: indeed the kit reflect that Flamengo were originally not a football club, but a rowing team. A vintage-style crest references this original regatta identity, while the classic adidas three-stripes on the shoulders reaffirm Flamengo’s iconic “rubro-negro” heritage.

Loving this Paul. And it’s that festive period when all league of Ireland clubs release their kits for next season. Some absolute stunners in their like the new Galway away or Derry home shirt. Bohs will undoubtedly have a stunner on the way.
